Eckerd Theater Company (ETC), based at The Marcia P. Hoffman Performing Arts Institute at Ruth Eckerd Hall, is a company of professional adult actors performing for youth and family audiences at Ruth Eckerd Hall and on tour throughout the eastern United States.
Touring actors work full-time for the run of each show. They must be available for overnight travel and are often away from home for as much as a month at a time. Touring actors will have driving and technical as well as performing responsibilities and are trained to lead workshops and discussions of each play.
Actors in non-touring ETC performances occurring at Ruth Eckerd Hall will be cast on an as-needed basis and generally will work part-time for the four to eight week rehearsal and performance period.
Casting occurs during the late spring through the summer months, with additional casting sessions at Ruth Eckerd Hall on an as-needed basis throughout the year. Resumes are kept on file in case cast replacements are needed, or to contact actors for an upcoming production. Please email photo/resumes to: mcraven@rutheckerdhall.net
ETC attends the Tampa Unified Auditions during the summer in addition to the state-wide Florida Professional Theatres Association (FPTA) auditions in May. For more information about the Florida Professional Theatres Association, or to become a member, please visit the FPTA website at www.fpta.net.
