Little Mary Sunshine is a musical “spoof” about the grand old days of operetta. This whimsical musical written in 1959 brings us back to the early 1900s at the Colorado Inn located in the Colorado Mountains. Proprietor Mary Potts and her finishing school girlfriends are met by Captain “Big Jim” Warington along with his sidekick Corporal “Billy” Jester and the Forest Rangers. These men are called in to protect the “damsels in distress” from the neighboring “Indians.” Little Mary Sunshine is a wonderful farce for the whole family to enjoy.

For two weeks, members of this performance class build their skills in the art of comedic acting: timing, line delivery, visual response and audience connection.

"You Can’t Take It With You" By Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman

Written by the masters of American comedy, this work won a Pulitzer Prize and an Academy Award.  At first the Sycamore family seems mad, but it is not long before we realize that if they are mad, the rest of the world is madder.  In contrast to these delightful people are the unhappy Kirbys.  Their worlds collide when young Tony Kirby falls in love with Alice Sycamore and brings his parents to dine at the Sycamore home on the wrong evening. The shock sustained by the Kirbys, who are served cheap food, shows Alice that marriage with Tony is out of the question.  Tony, who sides with the Sycamores over his own family will not give up.  In the end, Mr. Kirby and the rest of his stodgy family is converted to the happy madness that is the Sycamores-- their endearing hired help, their tax dodging, slightly batty Grandpa and their strange basement firework factory.  This script, with many excellent roles for men and women, is a hilarious “It’s a Wonderful Life” meets “The Munsters” wacky comedy about life, love, and the secret of happiness

A new fairy tale, told through physical expression and music, will be discovered.
